A man who is conceded a chance to be the next president of the United States will be the speaker for a Democratic banquet at 6:30 tonight in the Daniel Boone Hotel ballroom

U. S. Sen. Hubert Humphrey of Minnesota, one of a half-dozen aspirants rated even chances for the Democratic presidential nomination, will be the guest at a reception at 5:30 p.m. It will be under the direction of Mrs. William R. Sharpe of Clarksburg, aided by women of the Third Congressional District.

The state's female Democrats will meet at the hotel for the second annual state-wide Democratic Women's Day.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. on the mezzanine. Five women serving in the House of Delegates will be honored at a noon luncheon.

They are Miss Callie Tsapis of Chester, Mrs. Neil Walker of Winona, Miss Eudora Andrews of Charleston and Mrs. Elizabeth Drewry of Northfork.

Also expected at the luncheon are U. S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd, the five Democratic members of the House of Representatives from West Virginia, members of the Board of Public Works, President Ralph Bean of the State Senate, Speaker Harry Pauley of the House of Delegates, and party workers.

A workshop is set for 2:30 p.m. in the ballroom.

Panelists are:

Mrs. Thelma Hall of Madison, on "Value of State Organization;" Mrs Mabel Hess White of Morgantown, on "Interrelation of Partisan and Service Club Work;" Prof. William R. Ross of the West Virginia University political science department, on "Political Organization in West Virginia;" and Sen. Byrd, on "Building for '60."

Miss Anne Hearst of Morgantown, a member of the Advisory Council of the Democratic National Committee, will be moderator.
