West, State Co-Chairman for the "Humphrey for President" campaign in West Virginia, advised the herald this week that the popular Minnesota Senator will be traveling through this area with his campaign entourage on Monday, April 11.
West indicated that a campaign bus will leave the Daniel Boone Hotel at Charleston at 5 a.m. on the morning of the 11th and is scheduled to arrive at Logan at 7:30 a.m. where they will breakfast with leaders of that county.
The group ins scheduled to stop briefly in man for a period of fifteen minutes at about 10 a.m. pause in Oceana for a similar period at 11 and will be greeted in Pineville on the Court House Square at High Noon.
Arrangements have been completed with town officials to make available parking space in front of the Wyoming County Court House at that time and Senator Humphrey and his caravan will greet local Democratic followers.
Proceeding to Welch, the entourage is scheduled to have lunch with McDowell leaders about 1:30 and proceed through the Route 52 area to Bluefield for an evening meeting with Mercer Countians.
West, in his itinerary notice, stated that the local tour is only a small part of Mr. Humphrey's endeavor to contact as many West Virginians, personally, as is humanly possible, without detracting from his obligations in the nation's capitol.
