Lt. Governor Karl Rolvaag of Minnesota arrives in Northern West Virginia next week to campaign on behalf of Senator Hubert Humphrey in the presidential primary May 10th.

Rolvaag is completing his third term as Lt. Governor of the Gopher State. A World War II hero in the Tank Corps, Rolvaag has recovered from serious war wounds to become one of Minnesota's most popular political figures.

Humphrey headquarters in Clarksburg announced that Rolvaag would campaign on Humphrey's behalf in Clarksburg and the Harrison County area on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Included in the campaign schedule will be visits to several of the local industrial plants.

Rolvaag will move on up into Morgantown on Wednesday where activities in that area already scheduled include lectures on the campus of the University of West Virginia and factory tours in Monongalia County.

Rolvaag's association with Senator Humphrey goes back more than a decade and half. He was instrumental in helping Senator Humphrey clean the Communists out of Minnesota politics in the mid-forties when Humphrey was Mayor of Minneapolis. Since that time. Rolvaag has been a close supporter of the Senator and one of his most trusted advisers.

With astute political insight, and a keen but subtle sense of humour, Rolvaag is one of the most sought-after speakers in the Democratic party.
