Kennedy Here on Wednesday, Day After Humphrey's Visit

United States Senator John F. Kennedy, accompanied by his wife, will be a visitor in Martinsburg, Wednesday evening, Dr. Frank H. Fisher, chairman of the Berkeley County Kennedy for President Club, announced today.

The Democratic Presidential hopeful, who is entered in the May 10 West Virginia preferential primary, will come by plane to the Municipal Airport between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and will be transported by automobile to radio station WEPM offices in the Peoples Trust Company Building for a 15-minute talk between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. From there he will go by auto the Charles Town race track for an 8 p.m. rally.

Kennedy thus will follow by one day the visit here of Senator Hubert H. Humphrey, of Minnesota his rival in the West Virginia Democratic primary.

Humphrey supporters last week announced that the Minnesotan will be in Martinsburg tomorrow for a speaking engagement in Public Square at 4 p.m.

Senator Kennedyd's [sic] visit to Charles Town is being sponsored by the Jefferson County Kennedy for President Club, of which Shirley Hunt is chairman.

Hunt said Kennedy will speak there on the issues confronting West Virginia and the nation.

"We'll have lots of entertainment with bands and finishing up with a dance." Hunt said, adding, "it's all free and everything is under cover so we'll expect a big crowd, rain or shine."

Humphrey, travelling by auto, will come here from earlier appearances tomorrow in Romney and Berkeley Springs. He will go from here to Charles Town for a speech in front of the court house about 5 p.m.
