An elaborate reception has been planned by the Democratic women of Jackson County to honor Sen. John F. Kennedy when he visits Ravenswood this Sunday.

The reception will be held at the Ravenswood Community building at 12:30 p.m. for the presidential candidate.

Included in Senator Kennedy's party, in addition to his attractive 29-year-old wife Jacqueline, will be 15 members of the press corps from New York and Chicago. The party will arrive in Ravenswood at 12:15 from Parkersburg and will go directly to the Community Building where the reception will be held.

The reception is open to the public.

Senator Kennedy will speak briefly and will mingle with the group.

Mrs. Edna McGugin, reception chairman, and State Senator Paul Moore said a number of candidates for state offices have indicated they will attend the function Sunday.

After his visit in Ravenswood, Kennedy will participate in a Law Day celebration at the Parkersburg court house at 2 p.m., and then address a meeting of government employees at the Labor Temple. At 3 p.m. he will be the guest at an ox roast as [sic] Scott Field. He will then wind up the day as the guest at the annual Dinner of the Weirtonians at the Weirton Community Center.

Saturday, Kennedy will visit Eskdale in Kanawha county, then will travel to Marmet, Kanawha City, downtown Charleston, the Mound in South Charleston, Upton's Creek, Wolf Pen and the Unitarian church in North Charleston. Evning rallies are scheduled at Dunbar and St. Albans.

Senator Kennedy has run for office on five occasions and has been victorious each time. He is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations committee, the Labor and Public Welfare committee, the Joint Economic committee, and the Select Committee to Investigate Improper Activities in the Labor or Management field.
