Photograph, Jacob Beeson Blair, a Parkersburg native, was selected to fill a congressional seat before the outbreak of civil war, and was re-elected in 1863. Congressman Blair was instrumental in convincing President Lincoln of the necessity of signing the statehood bill. Portrait File
