The West Virginia Commission on the Arts (WVCA) of the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History has scheduled a series of workshops throughout the state to give individual artists, arts professionals and members of arts organizations, information they need to apply for grants from the WVCA and the Division. The workshops are free and will focus on Challenge America/Cultural Facilities grants and Community Arts Project Support/Major Mid-Size grants.
The Challenge America and Cultural Facilities Grants workshop will be held Friday, Nov. 4, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Landmark Studio for the Arts, 4th and Main streets, Sutton. Rose McDonough, organizational development coordinator for the Division, will be present to explain the grants program and answer questions.
The Community Arts Project Support/Major Mid-Size Grants workshops will be held Thursday, Nov. 3, from 1 - 3:30 p.m. at the Randolph County Community Arts Center, corner of Park St. and Randolph Ave., Elkins; and Friday, Nov. 4, from 1 - 3:30 p.m. at the Monongalia Arts Center, 107 High St., Morgantown. Debbie Haught, community arts coordinator for the Division, will present the workshop.
In addition, the entire arts staff for the Division will present a general workshop focusing on all the agency’s arts grants and services programs for artists, arts organizations, teachers and school administrators Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 1 - 3:30 p.m. at the Schoenbaum Family Enrichment Center, 1701 5th Ave., Charleston.
