This weekend’s Doo-Wop Saturday Night concert in Fayette County will be held
The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History’s Doo-Wop Saturday Night outdoor concert at Camp Washington-Carver this Saturday, July 14, will go on as scheduled. The facility was not damaged in the recent flooding and event organizers have decided to hold the show.
“We’ve been getting lots of phone calls from people who want to know if the concert is still going to happen. We want to reassure everyone that we will have the show,” said Ginny Painter, director of public information for the Division. “We have a full day of activities and an exciting musical-lineup planned so we hope people will come on out and join us for this annual event.”
Painter added that people who plan to come to the event should check road conditions in the surrounding areas ahead of time. Some local roads may still be closed Saturday and people will need to use alternative routes. For road condition information, call the West Virginia Department of Transportation at 1-877-WVA-ROAD.
For more information about the concert, call Camp Washington-Carver at (304) 438-3005 or Painter at (304) 558-0220.
