The Museum in the Park at Chief Logan State Park will present a Kids’ Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. All activities are free and open to the public.
Mark Wood of Jackson, Ohio, will perform magic tricks, crazy comedy and juggling with lots of audience participation. He also will make balloon sculptures and do some western rope-spinning demonstrations while strolling the grounds.
Wood started his show business career in the third grade and has been performing for more than 37 years. He calls his act the “Mark Wood Fun Show.” He taught himself magic from books he found at his local library, and says “Everything that I have learned about show business has been from books.” Wood has been featured on many television shows and travels extensively throughout the Midwest, performing at schools, libraries, county fairs, festivals, malls and corporate events.
In addition to Wood’s performance, the museum also will have an old-fashioned cake walk, a duck pond and many other games. Visitors are also encouraged to tour the Museum and see the exhibits on display, including the newest installation, The Omar Project: Not a Simple Story, as well as DeHue . . . A Special Place, West Virginia Quilts: A Tradition of Excellence, Fallen Field and Rising Light and An Early History of Firearms in West Virginia.

The Museum in the Park is a regional cultural center showcasing the best in West Virginia history and the arts.
