I, Wm H, Hoskinson, a captain in the 180th regiment, do hereby certify, that on the 22nd day of October 1862 at John Sweny's mill, I superintended the Election of a first lieutenant of one of the companies, of that regiment, when the votes of all the members, of the company present being given viva voce a majority was found to be in favor of Marion Williams, who was thereby duly elected first lieutenant of the said company to fill a vacancy occapioned [sic] by the resignation of Alexander Knight (a volenteer [sic] now in service) the former lieutenant that a majority of the persons, entitled to vote were present and that the election was fairly and justly conducted.-------------
On the same, day at the same place, belonging to the same regiment, in the same company, I conducted the election of a second lieutenant (conducted in the manner prescribed above) occassioned [sic] by the resignation of Wm B, Wilcox, (being to old to muster and post master at the same time) former lieutenant; that a majority of the members of the said company were present, the vote being given viva voce, a majority was found to be in favor of Augustim Coffman, who was thereby duly elected; that a majority of the persons entitled to vote were present and that the election was fairly and justly conducted.-
