Dear Sir
I have the Honor to make the following Enquiry If there is a volunteer company formed here will you furnish them with arms accoutrements and Ammition [sic] how many years will the company have to drill to be Exempt from military duty of course the company will uniform themselves there is plenty of arms in the county in the hands of the militia[sic] that if given in the hands of Volunteer company would be kept in good order ready for immediate use if necessary there were are Several State Guns in this county in the hands of Some persons that through neglect to keep them Cleaned are almost useless if you will furnish arms for a company please let me know as Early as convenient as our Regimental Muster will be Soon please answer
