I, Philip Cox Adjutant 165 Regiment Virginia Militia. Do hereby certify that on the 31st day of May 1862, at Glinville in Said County; I superintended the electi- -ion of a Colonel Lt colonel and Major of Said Regiment; When the votes of all the officers present being given viva or voec a majority was found to be in favor of Erikid G. Stout for Colonel, and a majority in favor of Saluthiel Stump for Lieutenant Colonel and a majority in favor of Samuel M Brannon for Major, to fill the vacancy's occasioned by the failure of the former Col Lt. Cox, and Major, to take the Several oaths, forscribed by law, and I further certify that a majority of the officers, Enrlled to vote was Present, and that Said election was fairly and justly conducted. Given under my hand this 31st day of May 1862.
