Dedication of the Droop Mountain Battlefield as a State Park
June 28, 1928
Pocahontas county will gather on the Droop Mountain Battlefield on the Droop Mountain Battlefield on Seneca Trail, south of Hillsboro on July 4[.] Governor Gore will receive for the State of West Virginia from the legislative commission the battlefield park, which is set aside as a memorial for all time of the greatest battle of the Civil War fought on West Virginia soil. The following program has been prepared. Come and bring your own dinner with something extra for the strangers from other counties who will be with us on that day:
