The county levy was completed on Tuesday evening, and notwithstanding a heavy delinquent list returned, an unprecedentedly large poor levy, and the fact that the appropriations of the last year exceeded the assessment, the county levy is a shade less than the last, being 175 per cent on State tax, while last year it was 180 per cent, certainly an earnest on the part of the Justices to reduce the burdens of taxation, as much as possible, consistent with the maintenance of the public credit.
