Escaped From The Atheneum. - On Monday night Chas. Rogers and a man named McVicker, charged with desertion, cut a hole in the floor of the room in which they were confined in the Atheneum, let themselves down to the basement story, opened the front door and quietly walked off. They have not been heard from since. It is said that McVicker has deserted his command seven or eight times. Rogers is the man who was arrested for robbing of Maj. Doddridge, but upon being discharged was immediately re-arrested upon the charge of desertion. He stayed in the prison only about three hours.
