A Senator Made A Quartermaster. - T. K. McCann, the Senator from Greenbrier, has lately received a commission as Captain and is A. Q. M. and ordered to report at Charleston, Kanawha county. He leaves to-day for that point.
Captain McCann served his country during the Mexican campaign. He went as a Lieutenant in the 2nd Pennsylvania regiment and was in every battle after the siege of Vera Cruz. His Captain having been wounded at the battle of Chepultepec, he led his company as senior officer in the battle at the city and was wounded in that fight. He was promoted for gallantry and returned with his company as Captain.
Captain McCann, previous to the breaking out of the rebellion, resided at White Sulphur Springs, but was driven away by the rebels and has not been at home for more than a year. Every cent's worth of his property was sold under the rebel confiscation act.
