We notice in the last Morgantown Post the proceedings of a county meeting held there on the 21st utl. to appoint delegates to the Parkersburg State Convention which meets in that place on Wednesday the 20th to nominate delegates to the National Union Convention at Baltimore on the 7th of June next. Ten persons were selected from each township, and, in addition, on motion of Gen. Kramer it was resolved.

That any persons from this county being loyal Union men, and in attendance at the Parkersburg Convention, be and are hereby authorized to represent this county in said Convention.

Quite a military ardor seems to have prevailed among the good people of Morgantown township, inasmuch as we see they have named military men exclusively to represent them at Parkersburg, viz:

Morgan Township - Major Gen. Lee Roy Kramer, Brig. Gen. E. C. Bunker, Col. W. A. Hanway, Col. Jas. Evaos, Col. F. R. St. Clair, Col. Henry Dering, Capt. Wm. Lazier, Capt. J. M. Hagans, Major Nicholas Vandervort and Col. A.S. Vance.

Speaking of this meeting at Morgantown we may notice the fact that meetings of the kind are being generally held now. It will soon be time for Ohio county to be taking steps in the same direction. We know of no committee, or other organization, empowered to call a county meeting, but some agreement must necessarily soon be had on the subject. If it is in order, we submit that next Saturday week is the limit beyond which such a meeting should not be delayed. That day will be the 16th of the month, and the State Convention as we have noticed, meets on the Wednesday following. We make this merely as a suggestion, and will be glad to hear the opinion of others on the subject.
