November 2, 1864
A Union mass meeting is to come off at Fairmont on Friday, and preparations are on foot to make it an affair of creditable magnitude. The good and true men there would be cheered and gladdened by the sight of a delegation from this city, and from Marshall, and from all along the line, and they deserve to be cheered and gladdened in that way.
Among the speakers announced are Gov. Boreman, Ex-Gov. Thomas, of Md., and Senator Willey.
