Bully for General Milroy.
December 11, 1862
General Milroy has issued an order for the suppression of the Wheeling Press within his jurisdiction. We knew it would come to this. That treasonable sheet, as he justly denominates it, has been growing bolder and bolder in its utterances, until to endure it longer, was to exhibit a degree of leniency towards an enemy, unworthy a military chieftain.
It is worthy of remark in this connection, that the General was a democrat of the strictest sect before the war broke out, but thank God, he is a patriot now, like hundreds of other good democrats. His action in relation to the Press, shows what he thinks of its efforts to get up a party organization her at home.--Swing your hat and give three cheers for General Milroy.---[Fairmont National]
