Kate Brown. - Many of our readers are familiar with this young woman who is now confined in the county jail. She was arrested about ten months ago in Braxton county, charged with climbing up a pole and cutting the Government telegraph wires. She was brought here and committed to jail, but after a few months of imprisonment she was released upon condition that she would not go back to Braxton. Instead of observing the terms of her release, she went straight back to Braxton and resumed her old tricks, when she was again arrested and brought to this city, where she has since been confined. Within the past two or three days she has become so intensely violent as to be an absolute nuisance, not only to the occupants of the jail but to every body in the neighborhood. No enraged fish woman ever exceeded her in profanity and blackguardism, and a more depraved creature never lived. She is so shockingly profane and vulgar that any decent person who comes in contact with her is compelled to retire in disgust. She curses the jailor every time her food is brought and instead of eating her meals she throws them out of the window. She yells like a Yahoo all through the night, and pounds upon the door of her cell continually.
