THE SPACIOUS YARD in the rear of the Athenaeum is being enclosed within a high fence. The prisoners will be allowed the privileges of this enclosure several hours each day. Yesterday a number of the prisoners were employed on the work. Of course they were not compelled to do this service, but did it in order to have a little exercise and hasten the completion of the work. The upper stories of the Athenaeum are also being fixed up, and will hereafter be occupied as a prison.
