PREPARING FOR A RAID
March 3, 1864
It is said that Bill Jackson is in Pocahontas county, with about eight hundred mounted men, and that Imboden, in Greenbrier has an equal number, all looking for a raid in the direction of Weston. As an offset to this we learn through a reliable source, that our military authorities have sent to Buckhannon two companies of cavalry, and a battery; also a battery to Clarksburg. The fortifications at Bulltown have also been made bomb proof.
