ESCAPED AGAIN
March 5, 1864
Our readers will recollect that sometime ago we announced the capture in Wetzel county, of a deserter from the 12th Infantry, by the name of John Jennings. After much trouble on the part of the officers who searched the whole country for him, he was sent to his regiment for trial, but some how or other, he has managed to escape and is again running at large in Wetzel county. He is described as a most desperate character. He has been seen several times but always succeeds in eluding pursuit. The Copperheads of the county assist him in his efforts to conceal himself among the unfrequented hills and ravines of the county, and all attempts to recapture him have failed.
