October 1, 1864
We learn that the rebel raiders during their recent visit to Weston after robbing a man, who is somewhat famous for his devotions to the Union of everything he had in his store and upon his premises, actually stripped him stark naked in the streets and carried off his clothing. They stole cattle, horses and all sorts of stock, dry goods, boots, shoes, notions and every living thing they could lay their hands on both in Jane Lew and Weston and must have carried off an immense amount of plunder.
