Mr. S. R. Dawson, of Ritchie county, has resigned his position as private Secretary to Gov. Boreman, to accept the appointment tendered him by the Treasury office at Washington, of Collector in the Second district. The Governor we know parts with Mr. Dawson's services with ___ regret, as the latter is by reason of his careful business habits and natural tastes that way, peculiarly fitted for the post of an assistant in the Executive chamber. - Mr. Dawson will be found a faithful public servant by the Government as Collector and in his new capacity we wish him abundant success.
