General John Jay Jackson Jackson, General John Jay
General John Jay Jackson of Wood County was a delegate to the Richmond Convention, where he voted against secession from the Union. He also served in the First Wheeling Convention. One son, John Jay, Jr., was appointed a federal judge, while another, Jacob Beeson Jackson, became the sixth governor of West Virginia.

Daniel Dye Johnson of Tyler County served as a delegate to the First and Second Wheeling Conventions. He later entered the Union army, and became colonel of the 14th West Virginia Infantry.

Joseph Johnson of Harrison County was a delegate to the 1850 constitutional convention, and was later elected the first Virginia governor from western Virginia.

Reverend Peter Laishley of Monongalia County was a delegate to the First Wheeling Convention.

Daniel Lamb of Wheeling was a delegate to the First and Second Wheeling Conventions, and the Constitutional Convention, where he chaired the Legislative Committee. He also served in the first Legislature of West Virginia.

George Latham Latham, George
George Latham of Taylor County served as temporary secretary for the First Wheeling Convention. Latham later served in the 2nd West Virginia Infantry, and commanded the 5th West Virginia Cavalry.
Joseph Lightburn Lightburn, Joseph
Joseph A. J. Lightburn represented Lewis County in the First and Second Wheeling Conventions. He was given command of the 4th West Virginia Infantry, and was later promoted to general.

Dr. Thomas H. Logan was a delegate to the First and Second Wheeling Conventions and a member of the House of Delegates in the Reorganized Government of Virginia.
James McGrew McGrew, James
James Clark McGrew was a delegate from Preston County to the Richmond Convention, where he voted against secession. He was a member of the first Legislature of West Virginia. He later served two terms in Congress.

Joseph Marcellus McWhorter of Roane County was a member of the first West Virginia Legislature, and was later appointed a circuit judge.
John Moss Moss, John
Dr. John William Moss of Wood County served as President of the First Wheeling Convention. He was also a delegate to the Second Wheeling Convention and was a member of the House of Delegates for the Reorganized Government of Virginia. He was later appointed colonel of the Second West Virginia Infantry.
