The West Virginia Division of Culture and History will close three of it museums, historic sites and administrative office locations on Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day. This includes West Virginia Independence Hall in downtown Wheeling, Grave Creek Mound Archaeological Complex in Moundsville, and the Culture Center at the State Capitol Complex in Charleston. The Culture Center houses the state archives library, the state museum and administrative offices.
Normal operating hours will resume at all three facilities on Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at West Virginia Independence Hall, and 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Grave Creek Mound. The Culture Center building hours are 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., the state archives and state museum are open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and the State Museum Shop is open 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
