On Saturday, children can enjoy participating in a scavenger hunt while using the Museum Bingo Game Sheet all day long. From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., they can weave a placemat in the “Make and Take” art area in the Great Hall and examine Civil War artifacts at the hands-on History Cart in the Museum Galleries.
At 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m., kids will gather to hear the story Golden Delicious – A Cinderella Apple Story by West Virginia author Anna Egan Smucker. After the story, they can make an apple bookmark.
At 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m., participants can gather in Discovery Room number five in the State Museum for a “Museum Walk ‘n Talk” program with the theme West Virginia and the Civil War. Rounding out the day’s activities, from 1 - 3:30 p.m., kids can join Civil War reenactor David Bradley of Jackson County who will portray a Civil War doctor in Discovery Room number six.
It is recommended that children under the age of 13 be accompanied by an adult.
