Irene McKinney, the Poet Laureate of West Virginia, will be unable to attend the annual Writers’ Toolkit workshop at the Culture Center this Saturday, Feb. 13, due to the inclement weather in Lynchburg, Va. She was scheduled to present “In Short” from 10 a.m. - noon, and “Memoir: Recovering the Self” from 1 - 3 p.m. Doug Van Gundy, a published poet and essay writer from Elkins, will teach two non-fiction workshops during those time periods. All the other workshop presenters have confirmed their attendance. The Writers’ Toolkit is a collaborative project of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and the West Virginia Library Commission.
