The new Artist Roster, published by the West Virginia Division of Culture and History’s West Virginia Commission on the Arts (WVCA) is available on-line. To access it, visit the Division’s Web site at www.wvculture.org/arts and click on the Artist Roster button.
The roster is a juried listing of professional West Virginia artists who are available and interested in participating in community and arts education programs. The roster was created as a resource tool for teachers, schools, arts organizations and communities to expand the reach of the arts in West Virginia communities. Sponsors are not required to hire artists from the roster to be eligible for funding from the WVCA; however, it does provide them with a starting point to accessing West Virginia teaching and demonstrating artists. In addition, the roster supplies the sponsor with geographic and monthly availability, fee schedules, and grade/age/specialties of the artists.
