CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Division of Culture and History has installed a new quilt exhibit in the Great Hall of the Culture Center. “The State Museum Quilt Collection” features 30 quilts dating from the 1950s to the present.
The exhibit includes quilts that were donated, purchase awards from juried exhibits and quilts that were created for specific shows including the bicentennial exhibit “Quilts: An Appalachian Tradition” that opened in 1976, the Culture Center’s first year.
The exhibit will grace the white marble walls of the Great Hall through May 13. A complete list of quilters and quilts is attached.
For more information about “The State Museum Quilt Collection,” contact Charles Morris, director of museums, at (304) 558-0220.
