The Museum in the Park at Chief Logan State Park will be the site for participants to gather for the Annual Sue Browning Spring Wildflower Hike on Saturday, April 5, at 9 a.m. The event is sponsored by the Logan Garden Council and all the Garden Clubs in Logan County.
There are four hikes available and the difficulty of walking varies on each trail. Visitors can take the Woodpecker Hike (easy), Shawnee Hike (easy), Buffalo Hike (moderate) or Wilderness Hike (difficult). Each walk is guided by a knowledgeable wildflower enthusiast and features unique scenery and its own selection of blooming wildflowers.
Hike groups will leave the Museum between 9 and 9:30 a.m. and return at the completion of the walk. Hikers will be served box lunch at 12:30 p.m. and the Museum will award door prizes.
Registration price for the wildflower hike is $12 per person. To register, send your name, address, phone number, number of participants (if a group, all pertinent information is required for each person) and a check or money order in the amount due made payable to the Logan Garden Council. Mail your check and information to Sandy Mayo, Chief Logan State Park Wildflower Hike, PO Box 623, Holden, W.Va. 25625 prior to April 1. Registration the day of the event is $17 per person. A box lunch is included.

The Museum in the Park is a regional cultural center showcasing the best in West Virginia history and the arts. It features changing exhibits and displays of artwork and historical items from the collections of the West Virginia State Museum and State Archives. One area of the museum is dedicated to local and regional history. It is operated and maintained by the West Virginia Division of Culture and History and is located four miles north of Logan on West Virginia Route 10 at Chief Logan State Park. Museum hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, and 1 - 6 p.m. on Sunday.
